The Flanged hexagon weld nuts is permanently fixed to the workpiece by resistance spot welding and is a non-detachable connection method. Under normal operating conditions, the welded nut requires almost no daily maintenance. However, in the following situations, regular inspections or treatments are necessary:
(1)Welding point appearance
Period: Every six months or during major equipment maintenance
Method: Visual inspection or with a magnifying glass
Acceptance criteria: No cracks, no rust, no signs of weld detachment
(2)Thread condition
Cycle: Each time the bolt is disassembled and reassembled
Method: Gauge or visual inspection
Passing criteria: No thread wobble, no burrs, no iron filings blocking
(3)Flange mating surface
Cycle: Every six months
Method: Visual inspection
Pass criteria: The flange of the Flanged hexagon weld nuts must be firmly fixed on the surface of the workpiece and must not have any deformation.
(4)Anti-rust layer
Period: Annually (outdoors / humid environment)
Method: Visual inspection
Pass criteria: No large-scale peeling or red rust on the coating layer
Flanged hexagon weld nuts are widely used and thus come into contact with various working environments. Therefore, rust prevention maintenance for nuts is indispensable. The following are the maintenance measures for nuts in different environments.
【1】Indoor dry environment
(1)Maintenance measures: No active maintenance is required. If dust is found, wipe it off with a dry cloth.
(2)Special case: If there are white spots on the surface, it will not affect the usage. You can use a soft cloth dampened with a small amount of neutral cleaner to wipe them off.
【2】 Moist environment
(1)Maintenance cycle: Check once every 6 to 12 months.
(2)Maintenance measures:
Remove surface dust and grease (wipe with a dry cloth or alcohol).
If you find any minor rust spots, use fine sandpaper (600# to 1000#) to gently sand them off, and then apply a cold galvanizing spray or anti-rust wax.
For electro-galvanized nuts, a thin layer of anti-rust oil can be applied.
【3】Outdoor / Rainwater / High Humidity Environment
(1)Maintenance cycle: At least one comprehensive inspection per year.
(2)Maintenance measures:
①Galvanized/Dacromet nuts: Remove rust from the surface with a wire brush, clean and dry it, then apply zinc-based repair paint or Dacromet repair liquid.
②Hot-dip galvanized nuts: If the coating partially peels off, remove the rust and then apply zinc-rich primer.
③Stainless steel Flanged hexagon weld nuts: Just clean it with plain water or a neutral cleaner to remove the salt or contaminants on the surface.

【4】Ocean / High Salt Mist Environment
(1)Maintenance cycle: Check every 6 months.
(2)Maintenance measures:
①Stainless steel: Rinse the surface with fresh water to remove salt, then dry it and apply a passivating agent or citric acid solution for passivation treatment to restore its corrosion resistance.
②Dacromet coating: If the coating is scratched, apply the Dacromet repair liquid for local reapplication.
【5】High Temperature Environment
(1)Precautions: Ordinary galvanization will accelerate oxidation above 120°C. It is recommended to use Dacromet or stainless steel.
(2)Maintenance: After removing the oxide scale, apply high-temperature resistant anti-rust paint (with a temperature resistance of ≥ 300°C).
