Threaded U Bolt

Threaded U bolt (also known as horseback bolt or U-shaped bolt) is a type of fastener shaped like the letter "U". Both ends are machined with threads and can be used in conjunction with nuts and washers. The U-shaped curved design enables it to "span" and enclose tubular or sheet-like objects, and by applying the threads at both ends, it can achieve the effect that ordinary bolts cannot accomplish.

Additionally, it is also used to fix the exhaust system, muffler, chassis pipe fittings, and various brackets. It is usually made of alloy steel of grade 10.9 or 12.9 (such as 40Cr, 42CrMo), and is combined with Dacromet or blackening surface treatment.

In the installation of drainage, HVAC, fire protection systems and industrial pipelines, the water pipes, gas pipes, steam pipes or cable trays are firmly fixed on the supports, hangers or walls by using the "brace" method.

（3）Construction Engineering and Steel Structures

In the field of building structures, U-type bolts are frequently used for steel structure connections, embedded parts fixation, and seismic support systems. For instance, in curtain wall trusses, equipment foundations, scaffolding, and pipe galleries, U-type bolts can connect crossbeams, columns or pipes to the main structure.

In environments with severe corrosion such as shipbuilding, dock facilities and offshore platforms, these materials are widely used for fixing deck pipes, cable supports, equipment bases and railings. Due to prolonged exposure to seawater or salt fog, it is necessary to select materials with excellent corrosion resistance, such as 304 stainless steel, 316L stainless steel or duplex stainless steel.
