anchor U bolt, also known as ground anchor U bolt or pre-installed U-bolt, is a type of anchoring fastener shaped like the letter "U". It has long threads at both ends and is usually pre-installed in the concrete foundation or passed through the steel structure base. It is combined with washers and nuts to firmly fix equipment, columns, pipe supports, etc. on the concrete or steel structure foundation.

Core function

It is a key anchor component used in fields such as construction, bridges, power, and petrochemicals for achieving rigid connections between equipment and the foundation. Its main function is to safely transfer the loads (tension, pressure, shear force, bending moment) of the upper structure to the concrete foundation or the ground. Unlike ordinary expansion bolts, this product is installed in a pre-buried manner. It is placed inside the formwork before the concrete is poured and forms an irreversible permanent anchor after the concrete sets.

Product type

Depending on the installation method and shape, the anchor U bolt is mainly divided into the following types:

Plain Embedded U-bolt: Embedded directly in the concrete, with the threaded end protruding above the base surface. It is used for fixing steel columns and equipment bases. It is the most common form.

U-bolt with Hook Ends: The threaded ends are additionally bent by 90° or 180°.

Flat-bottom U-bolt: The bottom of the U-shaped part is straight, not arc-shaped. It is used to fix components with a square cross-section or for installations that need to be in close contact with the bottom surface of the steel plate.

Through-bolt Type U-bolt: This U-shaped bolt passes through the reserved holes in the steel structure base, with both ends exposed. It is combined with upper and lower nuts to achieve clamping, and is commonly used for detachable connections or scenarios requiring height adjustment.
