Post Tensioning Wedges are the key consumable materials in the prestressed anchoring system. Their service life is not only determined by their own quality, but also closely related to the selection, installation, usage environment and maintenance.
【1】Selecting the correct model
(1)Match the diameter of the steel strands: Ensure that the nominal diameter of the wedge block is strictly consistent with the nominal diameter of the steel strands (for example, 15.2mm steel strands should be paired with 15.2mm wedge blocks)
(2)Match the anchor plate conical hole: Use the original factory-matched anchor plate, or ensure that the conical angle is consistent (typically 6°55' ± 0.3°)
(3)Choose the appropriate material
Based on the frequency of use, standard carburized steel (20CrMnTi) is selected for one-time use anchor; for tool anchors, more ductile materials can be chosen.
(4)Surface treatment adapts to the environment
For humid or corrosive environments, use duralumin, zinc-nickel alloy or stainless steel Post Tensioning Wedges
【2】Standard installation
(1)Cleaning
Before installation, remove the cement slurry, iron filings and oil stains from the cone holes of the anchor plate; the surface of the wedge block must not be contaminated with sand or hard particles.
(2)Inspect the tooth surfac
Before use, visually inspect to ensure that the internal teeth are sharp, without chipping or severe wear.
(3)Proper threading
The surface of the steel strands must not have rust, mud, or grease.
(4)Tension control
Use calibrated jacks to apply uniform loading at a constant speed, avoiding impacts.
(5)Anchor removal operation
When removing the anchor, a dedicated anchor removal tool should be used.
【3】Storage
(1)Short-term storage (less than 3 months): Keep in original factory packaging and store in a dry and ventilated warehouse.
(2)Long-term storage (more than 6 months): Check once every 3 months. If the anti-rust oil dries up, reapply the anti-rust oil and seal the package.
(3)Prohibited: Do not store together with acids, alkalis, salts, or corrosive chemicals; do not come into direct contact with cement floors; avoid direct sunlight or high-temperature (above 50°C) environments.
(4)Stainless steel Post Tensioning Wedges: No oiling required, but it should not be mixed with carbon steel products to prevent galvanic corrosion.
