The core anti-loosening principle of the Two fold self locking washers lies in: ingeniously converting the harmful energy caused by vibration into the force required for locking.Instead of relying on the traditional method of using a retaining ring to prevent loosening through "friction", a smarter mechanism was adopted:
(1)Initial tightening: Double-sided positioning
During installation, the wedge-shaped surfaces of the two washer are aligned with each other and are used in pairs.
External fixation: When tightening, the radial fine teeth on the outer surface of the Two fold self locking washers will firmly bite into the head of the nut/bolt and the surface of the workpiece, closely sealing the contact surface and preventing slippage.
Inner retention: At this point, the wedge-shaped surfaces (large teeth) on the inner sides of the two washer are in close contact with each other, but no relative movement has occurred, thus providing space for the subsequent mechanical action.
(2)Triggering loosening: Misalignment rather than slipping
When the equipment is operating in a vibrating environment, the nut begins to show a very slight tendency to loosen.
Due to the fact that the friction force of the outer radial teeth is much greater than that of the inner wedge-shaped surface, the movement will not occur between the nut and the Two fold self locking washers.
The only movement is that the two washers "slide out of place" against each other along the wedge-shaped surface on the inner side.
(3)Achieving self-locking: The key to the wedge effect
When the equipment vibrates or experiences fluctuating forces, the powerful counterforce generated by the wedge-shaped surface immediately cancels out these vibrations. This prevents the bolt from rotating in the opposite direction and converts the vibration energy into the locking force of the Two fold self locking washers itself, achieving the effect of "getting tighter the more it vibrates", thereby preventing loosening from its root cause.
