Product Description

When using the Double Fold Self Locking Washers, make sure to fully utilize its 100% performance. The following points require extra attention.

（1）Strictly prohibit mixed use

The Double Fold Self Locking Washers must be used independently and must not be mixed with flat washers or spring washers, etc. Mixing them together will cause the outer teeth of the washer to fail to engage, resulting in the failure of the locking mechanism.

（2）The hardness of the connected surface

The hardness of the connected surface must be lower than that of the Double Fold Self Locking Washers. Otherwise, the radial teeth on the outer side of the gasket cannot "engage", and cannot provide the friction force required for fixation, resulting in failure of the anti-loosening.

（3）The use of lubricants

The locking function of the Double Fold Self Locking Washers does not rely on friction, so the use of lubricants will not affect its anti-loosening performance.

（4）A torque wrench is the recommended choice.

Although installation can be done using standard tools, to ensure precise pre-tightening force and to avoid over-tightening or insufficient torque which could lead to failure, it is strongly recommended to use a calibrated torque wrench for each installation.

Material Introduction

The manufacturing materials of Double Fold Self Locking Washers are diverse. The choice of material mainly depends on the specific application environment and performance requirements.

（1）Carbon Steel

It’s strong and lasts long, good for heavy-duty industrial use. Works with grade 8.8 up to 12.9 high-strength bolts.

Temperature range: -50°C to +200°C.

For surface treatment: you should add some coating to help with rust prevention. Options include zinc-based coatings like Dacromet, regular galvanizing (yellow, white, or blue finish), black oxide, or hot-dip galvanizing.

（2）Stainless Steel

Excellent corrosion resistance, suitable for corrosive environments such as marine, chemical, food, and medical industries.

Operating temperature: -160°C to +500°C (very stable at high temperatures).

Standard/Grade: EN 1.4404 (AISI 316L), AISI 304.

Usually, a passivation treatment is carried out to further enhance the anti-corrosion ability.

（3）Phosphor Bronze

Excellent conductivity and wear resistance. Suitable for electrical applications that require conductivity or to prevent binding.

（4）Titanium

It's strong and light.

It’s mainly used in aerospace and medical equipment, because those industries need materials that are lightweight and clean in terms of composition.

（5）Brass

It has low friction and also looks decent.

So it works well when you care about how the part looks.
