Button head / Dome head

The head is round, like a little dome – either perfectly spherical or slightly flattened. It's smooth on top and centered on the shank. After you set the rivet, the head stays on the outside of the joint. It's smooth, so it won't scratch things. The flat underside of the head presses tight against the work surface and can handle pulling forces. If the head is wider, it spreads the load better and keeps the rivet from pulling straight through the material.

Shank

The shank is a straight cylinder, the same width all the way down. The surface can be smooth or have a light texture. The Multipurpose Snap head rivets will pass through the holes you have drilled for connecting the components. That lines everything up and takes shear loads. The shank diameter is matched to the hole so the joint doesn't wobble after you set the rivet.

Tail / Upset End

Shape: Before installation, it is a flat head or slightly chamfered. During installation, the tail is deformed using a rivet gun or hammer to form another flat head, which is called a "dovetail" or "dovetail head".

Function: The head tightly adheres to the surface of the other side of the connected component, and together with the head, it securely clamps the workpiece, achieving permanent fixation.

Price advantage

The structure of the Multipurpose Snap head rivets is simple, uses less material, and its unit price is much lower than that of the bolt and nut combination of the same specification.

Studs only need the pipe diameter and length. Studs of the same diameter but different lengths can be stored together, making management simpler.

In vibration applications, bolts must be equipped with spring washers, locking nuts or thread sealants to increase material costs.

The head of the rivets becomes permanently locked after deformation and does not require any anti-loosening parts.

High material utilization rate

The Multipurpose Snap head rivets are formed by cold heading, resulting in a material utilization rate close to 100%. If the rivets are installed improperly and one is missed, the cost loss is not significant; if a screw is damaged during installation and one thread is lost, the loss is for an entire set.
