Specific content

Is the head loose?

Press or tap the head of the rivet with your hand to feel if there is any obvious movement. Try to pry the edge of the head with your fingernail or a flat-head screwdriver to see if it can fit into the gap.

Are there any deformations on the head and the base?

Check whether the round head has been crushed, cracked or severely worn. The base should be intact, without obvious cracks or excessive curling.

Corrosion condition

For carbon steel rivets, check if the surface has red rust. If there is only slight rust, use a wire brush to polish it and then apply anti-rust paint; if the rust depth exceeds 0.5 mm, replacement is required. Stainless steel rivets usually can resist corrosion.

Is there any crack or deformation in the workpiece?

Has the sheet metal around the Industrial grade Round head rivets cracked, warped or had the holes elongated?

Things that don't need to be done

Do not apply lubricating oil to the rivets, as it will attract dust.

Don't hit the flat head with a hammer forcefully. This will flatten the head and accelerate its loosening.

Don't try to "tighten" the rivets with a wrench.
