The most common materials for a reliable expanding rivet clips are glass-reinforced Nylon 6/6 and Acetal Copolymer (POM). The Nylon 6/6 is stronger and handles heat better. The POM keeps its shape well, doesn’t rub much, and holds up to repeated use without wearing out.

These engineering plastics make sure the split pin body works well under mechanical stress and tough conditions. Unlike cheaper plastics, they don’t break down easily.
Maintaining expanding rivet clips is simple. Made of corrosion-resistant plastic, they won't rust, eliminating the need for anti-rust agents or oils. Before use, inspect them for damage, such as cracking, deformation, or brittleness or whitening from prolonged exposure to sunlight. Replacement is easy; no special tools are required. Simply pull out the old clip by the legs and replace it with a new one. Easy to use. Check the condition of the rivet clip regularly and replace it promptly.
Our standard expanding rivet clips have UV blockers built right in when we make them.Even if exposed to sunlight for a long time, it will not dry out, become brittle or crack easily.
That UV protection keeps them doing their job, staying strong, flexible, and holding tight, even in rough outdoor stuff. Think tractors, diggers, solar panels, farm gear, etc. Compared to regular plastic without it, these just last longer without you needing to fuss over them.
