The installation of the Black Steel Tab Washers With Long Tab and Wing involves four simple steps. Please follow the following sequence for operation to ensure a secure locking effect.

【1】Tool

Wrench (used for tightening nuts or bolts)

Pointed-nose pliers or flat-nose pliers (used for bending the ear pieces)

(Optional) Hammer + Phillips screwdriver (for thicker washers)

【2】Installation steps

（1）Fit the washer

Pass the bolt through the hole of the workpiece.Put the Black Steel Tab Washers With Long Tab and Wing onto the bolt, keep both the long tab and short tab facing outward. Make sure the washer lies flat against the surface.Screw the nut on by hand, do not fully tighten it yet.

（2）Tighten the nut

Use a wrench to fasten the nut until it reaches the required torque.

（3）Bend the short tab

Grab the short tab with pliers and fold it upward.Bend it tight against one flat face of the nut.

（4）Bend the long tab

Use pliers to bend the long tab down or to the side.Fold it into the groove on the part, or bend it firmly against the part edge.

【3】Installation inspection

The short ears are tightly attached to the plane of the nut, preventing the nut from rotating.

The long ears are firmly fixed and the Black Steel Tab Washers With Long Tab and Wing cannot rotate relative to the workpiece.

Both ear pieces have no cracks and no excessive bending or damage.

【4】Notes for Attention

（1）Single-use: After installation, the ear pieces are permanently bent. When removing, they must be straightened by hammering or cut. The Black Steel Tab Washers With Long Tab and Wing cannot be reused.

（2）Do not over-bend: Repeated bending or excessive bending angles may cause the root of the ear piece to break, losing its locking function.

（3）Don't get it wrong: the short ears should always point upwards, and the long ears should point downwards.
