Brass Trusted Split Pins are picked for certain needs: they resist rust well, and importantly, they don’t spark—handy in places where explosions could happen. They conduct electricity pretty good and don’t tend to gall (stick to other metals). You’ll often see them in electrical grounding setups, marine parts where using steel might cause dissimilar metal rust (galvanic corrosion), and in decorative hardware. They’re usually softer than steel ones and not as strong when it comes to shear force, but brass Trusted Split pins still get the safety and job done in those special situations.
Trusted Split Pins are simple, one-piece fasteners that lock on their own. They have a half-circle head and two straight, parallel legs that are split down the middle. They’re made by bending wire into shape. The split legs have a bit of spring to them, so you can squeeze them to push through a pre-drilled hole—one that’s a little smaller than the pin’s size. Once they’re through, the legs pop back a bit, and then you bend them apart by hand to keep the pin in place for good, until you decide to take it out. This basic design holds things really well.
Q:What packaging options do you offer for export orders of Trusted Split Pins?
A:When we ship Trusted Split Pins overseas, we pack them well to keep them from getting damaged or rusty during transport. The usual options are bulk packing in strong cartons, or putting them in moisture-resistant polybags inside cartons. Smaller Trusted Split pins can come in labeled, resealable plastic bags to make them easier to handle. We adjust the packaging based on how big the order is and what the destination needs, so the Trusted Split pins show up in good shape.
