The Stainless Steel Square Washers is a heavy-duty flat washer. The core of its structural design is to provide a large area for load distribution on the soft base material.
(1)Geometric shape
The main body is a square (or rectangular) metal plate. Compared to the circular washer, the four corners have an increased force-bearing area, which can effectively disperse the pressure applied by the bolt or nut, preventing damage to wood, composite boards or soft metals.
(2)Straight edges
The four straight edges will generate greater friction with the workpiece surface when tightened, effectively preventing the Stainless Steel Square Washers from rotating during the tightening process. This facilitates assembly and positioning, and also provides better anti-rotation stability on its own.
(3)Thickness and Hardness
The thickness of the Stainless Steel Square Washers is significantly greater than that of a regular flat washer, providing extremely high bending resistance. After heat treatment, the hardness is generally higher, capable of withstanding greater dynamic loads without deformation.
(4)Center hole
The diameter of the center hole is approximately 2mm smaller than the nominal diameter of the matching bolt, so that it can easily pass through the threads during installation.

(1)Can we use Stainless Steel Square Washers with guide bolts?
Yes, in fact, square washers are often used together with guide bolts. The square edges of the washers help prevent the bolts from rotating, just like the square holes on wood.
(2)What thickness options do you have ready in stock?
We keep 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm and 10mm on hand most of the time. You pick the thickness based on your bolt size and how much weight it needs to hold.
(3)Can square washers be used again?
Yep, you can reuse them if they’re not bent or broken after taking them off. But if it’s for key installation spots, or the washer is warped a lot, it’s better to use a new one instead.
(4)Do you do custom sizes?
Of course. We can make square washers following your design drawings or real samples. Just give us the size parameters you need.
(5)How hard are your stainless steel square washers?
Following DIN 436, the normal hardness is about 100 HV. We also have treated harder ones at 30–40 HRC, ideal for heavy load use.
