Here are a few basic tips on picking the right material for Stainless Steel Plain Washers in different conditions:
(1) Everyday use, just want to save money – For regular indoor machinery or household appliances where corrosion isn't really an issue, 304 stainless steel is your cheapest and easiest choice.
(2) Really harsh environments – If you're using the washers near the coast, on offshore rigs, in chemical plants, or on marine gear – anywhere with salt, moisture, or acids – go with 316 or 316L stainless steel. They handle chloride corrosion way better.
(3) High strength but not very corrosive – If you need a washer that's hard and wear‑resistant, but the environment isn't that harsh, 410 martensitic stainless steel will do the job.
(4) When considering your budget, for the indoor use Stainless Steel Plain Washers - if corrosion resistance is not particularly important and you just want to control costs, you can consider using the 430 ferritic stainless steel. This material is suitable for indoor, moderate temperature environments.
(5) Extreme strength and extreme conditions – For stuff like aerospace or deep‑sea equipment, where you need both high strength and top‑notch corrosion resistance, go with high‑performance materials like 17‑4 PH or 2205 duplex stainless steel.
(6) High‑temperature use – If the washer will be exposed to high heat for a long time (say, above 300°C), your best bet is austenitic stainless steel – 304 or 316.
(1)Can Stainless Steel Plain Washers prevent loosening under vibration?
The flat washers themselves do not have an active anti-loosening function. If anti-vibration and anti-loosening are required, they need to be combined with spring washers, serrated locking washers, or use nylon anti-loosening nuts or apply thread locking adhesive.
(2)Do you provide a material test certificate (MTC) with each shipment?
Yes. For each shipment, we default to providing the factory material certificate.
(3)How are the Stainless Steel Plain Washers packaged for export?
The inner packaging consists of plastic bags and paper boxes, while the outer packaging is in accordance with export standards - cardboard boxes and pallets.
(4)Can I get a sample for testing?
Yes. Samples of the standard specifications are provided free of charge (shipping cost is borne by the customer). The delivery time for the samples is approximately 3-5 days.
