The M8 Square Weld Nut is produced in strict accordance with the DIN 928:2013-12 standard. This standard specifies the dimensions and technical requirements for square welding nuts with coarse threads ranging from M4 to M16 and fine threads ranging from 8mm to 16mm. The product grade is A grade.
| Parameter | Value (mm) | Tolerance |
| Thread specification | M8 × 1.25 | - |
| Edge width (s / sw) | 14mm | ±0.3 |
| Diagonal width (e) | 18mm | ±0.6 |
| Total thickness (m1 / h) | 6.5mm | ±0.3 |
| Head diameter (dk) | 12.8mm | - |
| Height of the protrusion point | 1.0mm | ±0.1 |
| Concave point angle | 45° | ±5° |
The M8 Square Weld Nut is divided into two types based on whether it has a positioning pin or not: the pinless type and the pin-equipped type.
(1)Non-Piloted
Description:
Square shape, with the width of opposite sides being 14mm. The bottom surface has four hemispherical welding protrusions evenly distributed at the four corners, without guide pins. The bottom surface is flat, with a specification of M8 × 1.25 and a precision of 6H.
Working principle:
During welding, positioning is achieved through the locating pins on the lower electrode or the square holes on the workpiece. The four protrusions melt simultaneously during resistance welding, forming a uniform weld core.
Applicable scenarios:
When there is already a M8 Square Weld Nut in the square hole of the workpiece or when the positioning is reliable,
manual welding or semi-automatic welding techniques can be adopted.
This is suitable for cost-sensitive applications with low requirements for positioning accuracy.

(2)Piloted
Description:
The shape is square, with the width of opposite sides usually remaining at 14mm. The four corner protrusions on the bottom surface together with the center guide pin are present. The diameter of the guide pin is typically 9.6mm or 11.6mm (depending on customer requirements). The height of the guide pin is 1.5mm, 2.0mm, or 2.5mm, matching the thickness of the base material. The thread is M8 × 1.25, with a precision of 6H.
Working principle:
The guide pin is inserted into the pre-drilled positioning hole of the workpiece to achieve precise positioning and prevent the M8 Square Weld Nut from shifting during welding. At the same time, the guide pin also effectively blocks the welding splashes from entering the threaded hole to a certain extent.
Applicable scenarios:
Automated robot welding line (with high positioning requirements)
When the workpiece has no square holes and is positioned solely by round holes
Applications where welding slag needs to be prevented from blocking the threads
