        Hex Weld Nuts are a type of specialized fastener that complies with the DIN 929 standard. They feature a hexagonal shape and three welding protrusions at the bottom (some with positioning pins). They are permanently fixed to metal sheets through resistance spot welding and provide a high-strength internal thread hole for subsequent bolt connections. Their key feature is that they never loosen after welding. Hex Weld Nuts are widely used in industries such as automobiles, metal sheets, and molds. They are also employed in locations where regular nuts cannot be used or where a firm and permanent threaded connection is required, serving as a fixed internal thread connection point.

        Structural characteristics

        The structural design of Hex Weld Nut is centered around three key goals: welding reliability, positioning accuracy, and ease of assembly.

        【1】Hexagonal shape

        (1)Shape: Regular hexagon. The dimensions of opposite sides comply with the DIN 929 standard. It can be tightened using a regular open wrench or a socket wrench, without the need for special tools.

        (2)Opposite side width: Different specifications have different dimensions. For example, M6 is 11mm, M8 is 14mm, and M10 is 17mm. Provide sufficient contact area for the wrench.

        (3)Total height: Usually 0.8 to 1.0 times the nominal diameter of the thread. Ensure the thread engagement length and provide connection strength.

        【2】Bottom welding projections

        (1)Quantity: 3 pieces (uniformly distributed at 120°). Three points determine a plane, ensuring that the Hex Weld Nut is securely in contact with the base material. Even if the surface of the workpiece is slightly uneven, reliable welding can still be guaranteed.

        (2)Position: At the edge of the bottom surface, to improve welding stability.

        (3)Shape: Spherical or conical-topped, with a smooth top. During resistance welding, the current is concentrated, and it prioritizes melting to form a nucleus.

        (4)Height: 0.5 - 1.0 mm (specific values depend on the specification and plate thickness). Ensure a tight contact with the base material and provide sufficient melting volume.

        【3】Positioning guide pin (Pilot, optional structure)

        (1)Guide pin diameter: Less than the pre-drilled hole of the workpiece (e.g. M8 for φ9.6mm or φ11.6mm)

        (2)Guide pin height: 1.5 ~ 2.5 mm (selected according to the thickness of the board)

        【4】Internal thread

        (1)Thread specifications: Metric coarse thread M3 to M16 (fine thread available), Imperial UNC 1/4″ to 5/16″

        (2)Thread accuracy: 6H (metric), 2B (imperial)

        (3)Thread length: Provide sufficient thread engagement length

        (4)Thread orientation: Entrance end can have chamfering
