For threaded nuts, grab a matching bolt to twist it into the pre-drilled hole. The outer threads will dig into the material to hold it tight. Once it’s in place, you can screw a bolt or screw into the insert’s inner threads.

To make it work well, put it in material that’s thick enough so it doesn’t crack. Don’t tighten it too much—you might break something.
