If you want the surface to be smooth and flush, put the Permanently Fixing Solid flat head rivet into a countersunk hole. You need to be able to reach both sides of the materials you’re joining to do this. First, drill a hole with the right diameter for the rivet—usually, the hole should be about 1/16 inch bigger than the rivet’s shank. Since it’s a flat head rivet, you have to countersink the hole so the rivet head sits level with the material’s surface.
Here’s how to install it: put the rivet into the hole. One person uses a rivet gun with a matching rivet set (the cup part) on the manufactured head (the flush one), and someone else holds a heavy bucking bar against the end of the shank (the tail) on the other side. Trigger the rivet gun— the impact from the gun and the resistance from the bucking bar will flatten and spread out the tail, making a second head called the shop head. This new head should be round and even, holding the materials tightly together. Finally, always check with your eyes to make sure the rivet is secure and both heads are formed correctly. Don’t forget to wear the right protective gear, like safety glasses.
We supply our Permanently Fixing Solid flat head rivets in strong, sealed cardboard cartons. This keeps them safe from moisture and physical damage when shipping or storing. Inside the cartons, the rivets are either held tightly in partitioned plastic trays or coiled in separate compartments. That stops them from moving around, getting scratched, or tangling up. This neat setup makes it easy to count them, manage inventory, and get what you need quickly. Each carton has clear labels on the outside with details like product description, material (like steel, aluminum, copper), head diameter, shank diameter, and total length. We also clearly show the total quantity—like 100 or 500 pieces—and a unique lot number so you can trace them if needed. If you have specific project needs, we can do custom packaging, like bulk boxes or pre-sorted kits. Just let us know.
What materials are your Permanently Fixing Solid flat head rivets available in?
We offer rivet in low-carbon steel, stainless steel (A2/A4), aluminum, and brass. The choice depends on your need for strength, corrosion resistance, or non-magnetic properties.
