The Hexagon Head Wood Screws with manufacturer XiaoGuo feature coarse-thread self-tapping threads. During installation, a guide hole must be pre-drilled on the wood. The following key parameters are based on the DIN 571 standard.
1.Specification size range
| Specification | Tooth pitch (mm) | Head width (mm) | Head height (mm) | Recommended wrench size | Approximate weight (kg) of a thousand pieces |
| M6 | 2.5 | 10 | 4.0 | 10m | 8.5 |
| M8 | 3.0 | 13 | 5.0 | 13mm | 18.0 |
| M10 | 3.5 | 16 | 6.0 | 16mm | 35.0 |
| M12 | 4.0 | 18 | 7.5 | 18mm | 53.0 |
| M16 | 5.0 | 24 | 10.0 | 24mm | 120.0 |
| M20 | 6.0 | 30 | 12.0 | 30mm | 230.0 |
Under the same specifications, the pitch of wood screws is much larger than that of ordinary metric threads. For the same M8 specification, the pitch of wood screws is 3.0 mm, while the pitch of the ordinary M8 thread is only 1.25 mm.The large pitch increases the contact area between the thread and the wood fibers, effectively enhancing the holding power of the nail. The diameter range of metric Hexagon Head Wood Screws is generally 4 to 20 mm, with the shortest length being 16 mm and the longest being 250 mm.
2.Length range and tolerance
| Specification range | Tolerance |
| ≤ 6" (150 mm) | ±0.12" (±3.0 mm) |
| > 6" (150 mm) | ±0.25" (±6.4 mm) |
The length is measured from just below the head to the end of the screw.
3.Tensile strength (of wood)
| Specification | Reference value for anti-pullout force of each inch of thread embedding |
| 5/16" | Approximately 205–307 pounds per inch |
The pull-out strength of a single screw depends on the length of the thread embedded and the density of the wood. When using it in practice, a safety factor must be taken into account based on the installation depth and the type of wood. The load-bearing surface is used in combination with the gasket, which can prevent the head from sinking into the wood.

After the Hexagon Head Wood Screws are installed, they are very sturdy. Generally, no daily inspections are required. However, if they are used outdoors, in areas with strong vibrations, or if they have been in use for a long time, simple checks and maintenance are necessary.
1.When is the check required?
Outdoor wooden structure: Inspect once every six months.
High vibration equipment: Check once every 3-6 months.
Indoor static load: Check once a year
2.What are the items being checked?
Is it loose?
Gently turn it with a socket wrench. Can it still be rotated?
Possible causes: Wood shrinkage due to drying, vibration, or the guide hole being too large.
Is it rusted?
Galvanized carbon steel: Check if there are any white rust or red rust on the surface.
Stainless steel: There might be brown spots on the surface near the seaside, but this does not affect the strength. Just wipe it clean.
Has the wood cracked?
Check if there are any cracks in the wood surrounding the Hexagon Head Wood Screws.
3.Things that don't need to be done on a daily basis
There is no need to apply oil to the screws.
Don't use a hammer to strike the head of the screw.
Do not disassemble casually
