Hex Plug Hollow Forged Steel

We will introduce the main features of the Hex Plug Hollow Forged Steel to you in five aspects.

【1】Structural design features

（1）Hexagon drive head: Can be operated with standard open-end wrench or socket, applying high torque without slipping, suitable for high-vibration environments.

（2）With limit step (Collar): Prevents the screw plug from over-tightening, protects the oil pan or valve body threads; also provides a precise sealing surface.

（3）Parallel threads (most models): Uses metric fine teeth (M) or British standard round pipe threads (G), combined with replaceable sealing rings, allowing for installation and disassembly without wearing the sealing surface.

（4）Optional tapered threads: Some models of Hex Plug Hollow Forged Steel adopt NPT/BSPT conical threads. The metal-to-metal sealing is achieved through the interlocking of the threads, and no washers are required.

【2】Sealing performance characteristics

（1）Multiple sealing methods are compatible: copper gaskets, ED rings, O-rings, aluminum gaskets or combined sealing rings can be used, suitable for different pressures, temperatures and media.

（2）The gasket can be replaced: only the gasket needs to be replaced during each maintenance, and the body of the screw plug can be reused, reducing long-term maintenance costs.

（3）High-pressure sealing capability: when combined with ED rings or conical threads, the working pressure can reach over 63 MPa (630 bar).

（4）Reliable leak prevention: precisely machined end faces and steps, 100% pressure test, ensuring zero leakage.

【3】Materials and Adaptability Characteristics

（1）Multiple material options are available: carbon steel (4.8–12.9 grade), stainless steel (A2/A4), brass, aluminum alloy. Suitable for different corrosive environments and strength requirements.

（2）Rich surface treatments: galvanization, blackening, phosphating, nickel plating, Dacromet coating, etc., enhancing corrosion resistance and appearance.

（3）Wide temperature range: with appropriate seals, it can be used in the range of -40°C to +300°C.

（4）Anti-vibration and anti-loosening design: The hexagonal head of the Hex Plug Hollow Forged Steel is combined with a torque control device. It can be coated with a nylon anti-loosening layer or pre-applied with glue, suitable for components with strong vibrations such as engines and transmissions.

【4】Feature of Function Expansion

（1）Magnetic version: Built-in neodymium magnets, adsorb ferromagnetic wear particles (iron filings, steel dust), protecting the engine, transmission, and hydraulic system.

（2）Custom marking: Can be laser marked on hexagonal head flat surface (LOGO, torque value, part number), facilitating traceability and anti-counterfeiting.

（3）Standard compatibility: Compliant with international standards such as DIN 910 / ISO 9974-4 / GB/T 2878.4, globally interchangeable.

【5】Usage and Maintenance Features

（1）Installation is convenient: No special tools are required; a standard wrench is sufficient for operation.

（2）Low maintenance cost: The carbon steel version is economically priced, and the gasket replacement is simple.

（3）Not easy to be damaged during disassembly: The external hexagonal head is more resistant to wear than the internal hexagonal and the cross slot. It is less likely to slip over time.

（4）Reusability: The body of the Hex Plug Hollow Forged Steel has a long lifespan. Only the sealing gasket needs to be replaced at regular intervals.
