Type B square weld nuts are in a square shape as a whole. They have threaded holes in the middle and each of the four corners has a small protrusion, which is specifically designed for welding purposes. From M4 to M12, all are available and corresponding bolts are also provided.
Type B square welded nuts have no holes or simple corners; instead, there are distinct protrusions on each corner. This is a key feature. You can directly weld on these protrusions. This design usually provides a more uniform weld core because the protrusions will melt and fuse with the underlying metal plate. This is a common specification, especially in the automotive industry.
If you use spot welding equipment, the B square weld nuts are usually a more suitable choice than Type A ones. These raised protrusions are actually designed to allow the spot welding electrode tip to press down on them. The protrusions control the welding current path and can predictably melt, thereby forming a strong weld core. This makes them highly compatible with automated spot welding production lines for mass production. The square edges are easier to position than the circular nuts. Just place them on the iron plate and you can immediately tell if they are placed correctly. The four welding protrusions are of the same size, and they are heated uniformly during welding, making it less likely to be misaligned. The threaded holes are straight, and the bolts can be inserted smoothly without getting stuck. Even if the iron plate is slightly deformed, as long as the nuts are correctly welded, the bolts can be tightened all the way.
Type B square welded nuts are typically designed for various specifications of metal sheets, but they are especially suitable for slightly thicker materials because a good weld core is crucial. The raised part of the design helps ensure that sufficient heat penetrates the nut base and the base metal, thereby forming a strong fusion point, even if the sheet thickness is not very thin.
